How to explain risk to leadership

Leadership doesn't refuse security. It refuses a request it cannot translate into consequences.

Noise versus signal in monitoring

A team that ignores alerts isn't careless. It's overloaded by a badly calibrated system.

The crisis exercise happens with leadership in the room

Simulations attended only by the technical team test half the problem.

The first 15 minutes decide the incident

The tool doesn't save the situation. Someone knowing exactly what to do in minute two does.

Phishing isn't the employee's fault

If a single click can compromise the company, the problem isn't the click. It's the architecture.

An untested backup is not a backup

Almost everyone says they have backups. Few have ever verified they can come back from them.

What doing nothing costs

Security budgets are hard to approve because we discuss the price of the solution, never the price of its absence.

Why leadership hears about incidents last

When reporting an incident gets punished, the organization doesn't get safer. It just gets quieter.

Five questions every executive should ask their IT team

You don't need to be technical to lead on security. You need the questions that reveal what isn't working.

IT security isn't a cost, it's a business decision

As long as security only shows up in the IT budget, it stays an expense. The moment it shows up in the leadership risk register, it becomes a decision.

The universe is infinite. The offer expires at midnight.

On universal certainties, flexible expertise and businesses where the customer provides the guarantee.

You've changed. And who gets to approve that?

Sometimes the complaint says more about the role you used to play than about the person you have become.

Boundaries work both ways

It is easy to demand respect for your own space. The test comes when the other person defines theirs.

A break that does not have to produce anything

Coffee, free time and our habit of asking even rest to justify its existence.

Are you loved, or just very useful?

The difference becomes clearer on the day you have nothing to solve for the other person.

When calm feels suspicious

If you are used to decoding every message, consistency can feel like a lack of chemistry.

Your partner is not a renovation project

Compatibility cannot be built entirely on the hope that the other person will become someone else.

I adapted. That does not mean it was good for me.

Being able to endure a situation does not, by itself, mean it is worth staying in it.

I can do it alone. But why must it always be alone?

Independence is useful until it starts forbidding you from relying on anyone.

The most exhausting person to maintain is your public version

When you constantly try to look different from who you are, even a good day starts requiring direction.

Keeping your word after the conversation is over

Trust is built mostly when there is no longer an audience for the promise.

Actualizare in romana: principiile sub presiune (Romanian update, 19 September 2026)

The song ended. The film in my head did not.

Sometimes you play a song and, without asking, an entire period of your life starts playing too.

You're online. But are you here?

Presence is measured not only by how quickly you reply, but by what you actually heard.

You do not have to look invulnerable to be taken seriously

Saying that something hurts does not mean asking to be rescued or giving up your dignity.

I understand perfectly. I am still not over it.

Understanding a situation does not mean your emotions are already done with it.

Do I quit or keep trying? There is no answer sold by weight.

Sometimes leaving protects you. Other times you abandon the very thing worth the effort.

Am facut o piesa. N-a ramas singura.

Bucuresti, intalniri si piesa „Acum”. Ganduri puse pe muzica, despre apropiere, liniste si renuntarea la rolul de salvator.

YO3DSG: radio, curiosity and people

Amateur radio is my hobby. Technology, projects and conversations that do not always end when the coffee does.

PensioNET: an idea between analogue and digital

A hobby project built around connecting analogue access to BrandMeister/DMR.
